Terms of Use
These terms are the rules for using Preinvite at preinvite.me. By using Preinvite, whether you make event pages as a host or sign up on one as a guest, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Preinvite.
What Preinvite is
Preinvite lets hosts make a page for an event they’re planning and share its link or QR code, so people can say they’d like to come. It’s free. We only provide the pages: we don’t organize, host or run any events. A sign-up isn’t a ticket, and it doesn’t promise that an event will happen or that you’ll be invited.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13. If you’re under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
Your account
- Use your own name and an email address that’s yours.
- Keep your password to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
- If you think someone else has got into your account, change your password on the Account page (or use “Forgot your password?” on the log-in page), and email privacy@preinvite.me.
Hosts: your pages and your guests
- You’re responsible for what you put on your event pages. Anyone with the link can see a page, and people can pass links on, so leave out anything you want kept private, such as a home address.
- Your guests trust you with their details. Use them only to plan your event and keep guests posted about it. Don’t sell them, give them to anyone else to use, or add guests to mailing lists without their permission.
- When you print or download a guest list, keeping it safe, and following any laws about how you use it, is up to you.
Guests
What you enter on an event page goes to its host. Only sign up yourself, or people who’ve said you can. The host, not Preinvite, decides whether and how to invite you.
Things you must not do
- Break the law, or help anyone else to.
- Post anything hateful, threatening, harassing or sexually explicit, or anything you don’t have the right to share.
- Pretend to be someone else, or mislead people, for example with fake events or scams.
- Send spam, or collect people’s details for anything other than your event.
- Sign up other people without their permission, or fill lists with fake sign-ups.
- Try to break into Preinvite, overload it or get around its protections, or use bots or scripts on it.
We may remove pages or sign-ups, and suspend or close accounts, that break these rules, without warning if we need to.
What you post
What you write stays yours. You let us store it and show it to the people it’s meant for (your event page to anyone with its link, and each sign-up to the event’s host), only as needed to run Preinvite.
Our name and site
Preinvite™, the Preinvite logo and the site’s design belong to Preinvite. You’re welcome to share links to Preinvite and to your event pages, but please don’t use our name or logo in other ways without our permission.
Changes to Preinvite
Preinvite is free, and we may change it, add or remove features, or stop it altogether. Before we shut it down, we’ll try to give hosts notice on the site so they can print or download their guest lists.
No guarantees
Preinvite is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running and your information safe, but we can’t promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes, or that information will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything important: hosts can print or download their guest lists at any time.
Limits on our responsibility
As far as the law allows, Preinvite isn’t responsible for events or anything that happens at them, for what hosts and guests say to or do with each other, or for indirect losses from using Preinvite, such as lost profits or data. If we are found responsible for something anyway, our total responsibility to you is limited to US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
If someone makes a claim because of you
If what you post, your event or your breaking these terms leads to a claim against Preinvite, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable costs (including legal fees) that come from it.
Ending
You can stop using Preinvite at any time, and delete your account on the Account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. The parts of these terms that are meant to last, such as the limits on our responsibility, still apply afterwards.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top, and for important changes we’ll put a notice on the site before they take effect. If you keep using Preinvite after that, you accept the new terms.
Laws that apply
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Any dispute will be decided by the state or federal courts in the State of New York, and you and we agree to those courts. If the laws where you live give you protections that can’t be signed away, you keep them.
The rest
If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a rule straight away, we can still enforce it later. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Preinvite about using it.
